Code and Conventions of Reality TV:
The Mighty Redcar:

Uses nostalgic music to capture the towns colourful past, this is contrasted with the modern town being down trodden this is further reinforced through the lack of colour gradation. Hand held camera shots are used to make the show feel grounded and real, Cuts between nostalgic past to the grim contemporary, positions the audience to be on their side as the voice-over uses words like ‘we’ this is a cultural code – establishing shot shows the poverty, aimed at two groups; younger people looking to find their place and since its on BBC 2 at older people to empathise more with teenagers.

I’m a Celebrity:
Use Ant and Dec's comedy as a vehicle for the show as the majority of people are familiar with the show, the theme of the show establishes that it’s I’m a celeb, acts more of a reminder than an actual advertisement. High production as its made for the show. Saturated colouring to create a happy tone.

Educating Yorkshire:
Cheerful tone, contrasted with the children misbehaving, set in a public school so all demographics can relate to the characters, has a three part structure with kids behaving badly, then emotion moments and finally hopeful end. Directionless camerawork as we observe the children. Cultural codes of north and English. Lot of the children fit into the stereotypes. Affectionate portrayal of teachers and pupils. Uses the convention of talking heads.
